Our Editors Imagine a Wedding at These 3 Dream Venues

A city wedding, a countryside affair in the mystical English landscape, or art-steeped Provence where the spirit of Jacquemus minimalism was born. In the south of France, imagine lavender fields and vineyards threaded with contemporary sculpture at Château La Coste, or the modernist gardens of Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. With these evocative settings on our radar, our imaginations ran wild. We asked three of our editors to share their visions. Dream with us.

Black Tie at The Carlyle

Managing Editor Scarlett: “I got married in Barcelona and I have always loved the energy of a city wedding. A hotel venue also makes planning so much easier, something I highlighted in our Art Of Going At It Alone feature. The Carlyle, for me, embodies old glamour and timeless chic. It is the perfect setting for a black-tie celebration, with its jazz bar and iconic place in history. What I love about hotels as wedding venues is the effortless way everything comes together. You do not need to bring in an array of different vendors (but of course you can if you choose to!) because the hotel often takes care of it all with elegance. The food and drink are always a standout as well, because hotels are accustomed to scale and luxury service. I imagine a wedding here as glamorous and intimate, a private evening that feels both moody and enduring.”

Barefoot in Provence

Designer Lané: “If I were to do it all again after my wedding in my native South Africa, La Grange De Javon would be magnifique. Timeless, rustic and deeply romantic, it feels like a secret hidden in the Provençal hills. I imagine vows exchanged beneath the centuries-old oaks, the air fragrant with lavender and cypress, before gathering at long farmhouse tables dressed with linen and wildflowers. Around us, the landscape stretches into rolling fields of lavender, sculptural gardens that feel almost like an open-air gallery, and sun-warmed stone that recalls the effortless elegance of Jacquemus campaigns. As the evening softens into night, candles flicker against the walls, music drifts through the courtyard and we dance barefoot beneath a canopy of stars. The whole celebration infused with the warmth and beauty of Provence.”

English Countryside Dream

Social Media Manager Kristina: “To be honest, I’ve never thought of myself as a farm girl (laughs), but The Willow Marsh Farm could easily win me over. It’s beautiful. A wedding here would feel like stepping into an English countryside dream: intimate, romantic, framed by nature at its most poetic. I imagine arriving through the old stables, their stone arches dressed in flowers, before walking to the water’s edge to exchange vows with the marshes and sky as our backdrop. The air alive with birdsong and the rustle of leaves, the evening unfolding into a candlelit barn dinner with doors flung open to the fields. Later, beneath a canopy of stars, we’d gather around the fire as music drifts through the night, making the celebration feel endless.”
