An Ethereal Seaside Celebration at the InterContinental Danang
Jaymee and Oky’s dreamy Danang wedding embraced sculptural simplicity, organic beauty, and an atmosphere of warmth, connection, and artful restraint. Photography by Kiến’s Collection & CANH DONG BAT TAN Studio.
Amidst the poetic shores and verdant hills of the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Jaymee and Oky hosted an ethereal seaside celebration. The ceremony unfolded on the sand in a composition of white roses, hydrangeas, and orchids, their soft tones echoing the natural palette of the setting. Pared back and carefully curated, the design allowed the ocean and surrounding greenery to frame the moment organically.
For the reception, a canopy of diaphanous drapery softened the architecture, while candles en masse illuminated the room in a warm, enveloping glow. Serpentine dinner tables replaced traditional layouts, creating a sense of movement and connection. With no floral arrangements, the light and form of the space became the focus, emerging as something sculptural, intimate, and artfully restrained.

Location / Danang, Vietnam
Wedding Date / May 10th, 2025
Guest Numbers / 50

How We Met
We actually met online, which just shows how far technology and social media have come. It turned out we were living in the same neighborhood too. We chatted for a bit, but Oky mentioned he was back in the States for a while, so we didn’t talk again for a few weeks. In March 2024, he returned to Singapore and asked me out for dinner on Good Friday. I was hesitant at first because I thought he was just a tourist, but I’m so glad I said yes. What followed was a series of dates where I became the tour guide of my own city while he explored as my guest.
Our Engagement Story
In October 2024, we took the next step and decided to move in together. I found our dream home quickly, but it needed a month of renovations. In December, we went on a trip to Bangkok and, on a whim, stayed there for one and a half months because we both love the city so much. Oky secretly teamed up with some of my Thai friends to plan a proposal on New Year’s Eve by the Chao Phraya River at the Shangri-La. When I stepped onto the balcony, I saw a beautiful bed of red roses and flickering candles, and that’s where he asked me to be his forever. It was the perfect way to welcome the new year.
What we love most about each other…
Oky says he loves that I’m carefree, fun-loving, my smile, and how close I am to my family and friends. I love Oky for being honest, kind, easygoing, and how much he loves our dogs. We have different religious beliefs, but I really admire how loyal and spiritual he is with his faith. I always try to stay positive, but on the days I can’t, Oky is the one who makes everything feel okay. It’s easy to find someone to enjoy the good times with, but I know Oky will be there for me through the good, the bad, and everything in between.

The Setting
Wedding Location
Our wedding took place at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, a place that instantly felt right for us. We’ve always loved the calm, open beaches in Danang, and the resort gave us the privacy and beautiful setting we were looking for. It felt like a peaceful escape, surrounded by ocean views and greenery, and gave us the perfect backdrop to share this moment with our closest family and friends.
Aesthetic
The inspiration for our wedding was a mix of purity, understated elegance and heartfelt intimacy. We wanted every element to feel intentional but not overdone, like a quiet, romantic dream that unfolded naturally. The ceremony was designed with soft whites and neutrals that reflected the sand and ocean, while the reception embraced warmth and glow, creating a feeling of togetherness and celebration as day turned to night.

Photography & Videography
We worked with Kiến’s Collection, whose style we deeply admire. They have an incredible ability to capture moments that feel raw, emotional, and real, not just posed images, but the feeling of the day itself. Looking through the photos now, we feel like we’re reliving every moment, the nervous excitement, the tears, the laughter.
We also worked with CANH DONG BAT TAN Studio for the reception décor photos. They captured the beauty of every detail we had carefully planned, from the soft lighting to the candlelit tables.

“With the ocean as our witness, we exchanged vows in an all-white ceremony that felt soft, romantic, and timeless.”
Style Notes
Ceremony Décor
With the ocean as our witness, we exchanged vows in an all-white ceremony that felt soft, romantic, and timeless.
The beach setting was decorated entirely in white, from the aisle to the stage and the flowers. White roses, hydrangeas, and orchids were our main blooms, chosen not only for their beauty but for the calmness they brought to the space. The result was simple, serene, and so emotional.
Reception Décor
As the sun set, guests moved into the reception hall, where the mood changed to something warm and intimate. The room was draped with flowing fabric to create a soft, cocoon-like atmosphere. Instead of traditional table layouts, the dinner tables curved through the space, making everything feel open and connected.
We wanted something unique for the reception tables, so we skipped flowers completely. Instead, we filled the room with about 1,000 candles, which cast a soft, flickering glow everywhere. It felt magical and romantic, like every candle was a symbol of love.

Wedding Planner & Stylist
We worked with The Planners, one of the most well-known wedding planning teams in Vietnam. They specialize in creating destination weddings that feel unique to every couple, and they brought our vision to life with such care and creativity. They understood exactly what we wanted, a wedding that felt both elegant and intimate, and turned it into something even more beautiful than we imagined. From the ceremony setup to the candlelit reception, every detail was handled with thought and precision.
Flowers
For the ceremony, we chose an all-white floral palette of roses, hydrangeas, and orchids. These flowers have always been special to us, they are timeless, classic, and beautiful without being too bold. My bridal bouquet was a mix of these blooms, tied with a simple white silk ribbon. The flowers symbolized purity and love, which felt perfect for the moment we said our vows.

Stationery
Our stationery reflected the minimalist elegance of our wedding day. We kept the design simple and clean, with soft neutral tones and subtle textures that tied into our overall aesthetic.
Favors
We gifted our guests thoughtful, locally inspired favors that felt personal and meaningful. Each favor was wrapped in soft, natural-toned packaging to blend seamlessly with our décor.
Cake
Our wedding cake was simple yet striking. It featured our personal logo and a delicate swan motif, which has a special meaning for us, swans symbolize loyalty and lifelong love, which is exactly what our marriage represents.
Food & Beverages
We wanted our guests to feel cared for and spoiled throughout the day, so we created a snack and refreshment station near the ceremony area. Each table was decorated with ribbons, candles, and trays of soft-toned fruits and delicacies. During the reception, the menu focused on fresh, vibrant flavors that felt indulgent but still light and seasonal. Every course was paired with wines and cocktails carefully selected to complement the dishes.
